I’m Jill. I help self-employed people understand and manage their own bookkeeping with confidence.
Running a small business means wearing a lot of hats. Bookkeeping can often end up at the bottom of the list, especially if it’s something you’ve never been shown how to do properly. My aim is to make it easier by explaining what you need to do, why it matters, and showing you how to do it – guiding and supporting you using whatever bookkeeping method you choose.
I’m an AAT licensed accountant (FMAAT) with 30+ years’ experience working with small businesses and sole traders. Through my work, I’ve seen how bookkeeping and software can seem confusing or intimidating, simply through lack of guidance. Once people have a step-by-step process adapted to their business, and a bookkeeping system that suits them, they can often do far more for themselves than they initially thought.
That’s why, through Springreach Training & Coaching, I focus on teaching and supporting business owners who want to handle their own bookkeeping. I provide practical training, resources and accountability, to help you build the knowledge and habits that keep your records up to date, and make it as easy as possible to complete the self-employment section of your Tax Return.
Beyond bookkeeping, I’m also committed to helping small business owners prepare for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. With the right systems in place, many people will be able to keep digital records and submit their own quarterly updates to HM Revenue & Customs – even if they still use an accountant at the end of the year.
